The characters:

MARY-LOUISE PARKER
Nancy Botwin struggles with the sudden death of her husband and agonizes over how she'll support and raise two young boys on her own. Without any discernable career skills, the widow Botwin finds good paying work as the local pot dealer in the pristine, new LA suburb known as Agrestic. There's definitely a double meaning when this girl puts on her Mary Janes.

ELIZABETH PERKINS
Celia Hodes is the imperious, calculating and superficial PTA president and fellow super mom. She is Nancy's friend and nemesis, tightly wound into one darn good Machiavellian manipulator, capable of fiendishness and friendship.

KEVIN NEALON
Doug Wilson is Nancy's accountant and business advisor, not to mention one of her best cannabis clients. He's good-hearted and well-intended but his advice and counsel is not usually the result of clear thinking.

JUSTIN KIRK
Andy Botwin, Nancy's aimless brother-in-law, with no visible means of supporting himself, moves in with Nancy and the boys. He's obsessed with get-rich-quick schemes until he finds out about Nancy's lucrative pot business, and invites himself to become her partner.

TONYE PATANO
Heylia, the strong-willed matriarch of an inner-city family, is the pot supplier for Nancy's new business. Ironically, Heylia and her extended family also supply Nancy with the support she needs and hopes to provide for her own afflicted family.

ROMANY MALCO
Conrad Shepard is Heylia's nephew, he takes particular interest in Nancy, professionally and personally.

HUNTER PARRISH
Silas Botwin 15-year-old, Nancy's oldest son, is forced to become the man of the house after his father passes away. His grief and teenage insecurities have adverse affects on girlfriends, friends and family.

ALEXANDER GOULD
Shane Botwin is Nancy's loveable and imaginative youngest son, is the most vocal in grieving for his father and often acts out in bizarre and sometimes disturbing ways.

ANDY MILDER
Dean Hodes is Celia's husband who, this season, has just learned about her torrid affair with his friend and fellow pot smoking buddy, Doug.

ISABELLA HODES
Isabelle Hodes is Celia and Dean's daughter who, much to her mother's chagrin, is a plus-sized children's wear spokesmodel with lesbian tendencies.

MATTHEW MODINE
Sullivan Groff is an unscrupulous real estate developer who quickly becomes central in Nancy's quest for a legal moneymaking job; she ends up working as his assistant.

MARY-KATE OLSON
Tara Lindman is the good Christian girl-next-door who immediately strikes up a romance with Silas and becomes Nancy's best dealer.
