Across The Universe

I've been waiting so long to see this movie - so much buzz, great poster, then great trailer. the movie opens James Blunt style on the British seaside dissolve into a sequence of waves with war and protest imagery. - the first few songs feel like they tried to play it safe - "high school Grease type scenes. - But once Joe Cocker appears it starts to kick in and take chances - AWESOME - GO SEE

Walk On Water (DVD) / The Life Of Others

wow, a great movie from Israel/Germany/Turkey. An Israeli Clive Owen is a top Mossad agent, going through an emotional journey after the suiside of his wife. An amazing social thriler, I watched it after "The Life Of Others," - a great / amazing double feature. The Life Of Others had me in tears the moment the last frame froze.

Exterminating Angeles

The Queen

London 1997, Diana dies - the world is in shock. - the british know best how to make reality movies
- what went behind close doors - or what they want us to know. - usually not the real truth.

I miss Diana - only once our paths crossed - it was in Harrods nail varnish department - she walked up to me looking at the colors i choose - she nodded - "nice" and walked away - i guess she just came downstairs from seeing Dodi.

MAKE UP - Did not make much sense to work so hard only on some roles - the actor playing prince Charles did not look like him at all. -

The Reaping

Scientific horror movies don't really hit the spot. Smart sexy body Hillary Swank gives us a breakdown of the ten biblical plagues. Too much information could distract from being scared - but also the man sitting next to me chewing on ice cubes at the Mann Chinese free preview screening was disturbing.

Great effects, little blond girl possessed, ( seen that before ) - Well, the writers did give it a twist as the movie progresses but why not be original from the start ? Playing safe not always works.

Curious to see what it will do in the box office.

Director: Stephen Hopkins

Chad & Carey Hayes adapted to screen a Brian Rousso story.

The Man Who Knew Too much

She is easy to watch in this Very Light romantic comedy.

Blades of Glory

No line-straight into the cinema, good seats, movie starts; a poor little blonde boy was put in a helirious costume and is icesaketing on a small frosen lake... - Come on - You got to laugh. I bursted once loud when I saw a white bear carpet with head still attached being molested by one of the cast members.

Go. Laughing is good for you.

Hotel Room (DVD)

Repeted episode in Black and White - with differnt endings.

Poor from start. Weak stories I just don't buy. Dead bride in the closet okay - but why not explore further - would a newly wed really leave his love in the closet? - What could not top the idea - is not been develpoed, another story starts, then another - What's the point? not really sure. -

The Pursuit of happyness

This movie is about a man's dream. Will Smith plays a father who sticks to his dream to become a stock broker, no matter what. Like most true stories everything works against him and slows him down in his pursuit. His to love for his son and his belief in himself keep him going.

There is not one racism reference throw-out the movie, it's beyond that, relating to everyone, as human - charming. - I don't get why during one of the final scenes, in the bathroom, when the employer genuinly wishes luck before the final day, an African American in the theater called out load - "It's not going to happen, you low class nigger!" - so wrong to still see and hear the self hateread some black people have in America.

This movie is about a man's dream who just happens to be black..

Director: Gabriele Muccino

Writer: Steve Conrad
